FISH PLAQUE REPLICAS BY MARGARET
Margaret makes replicas of fish as wall plaques. They are acrylic paint on pine and are coated with a polymer coating that is the equivalent to 50 coats of varnish. Each fish is painted from a photograph and is approximately the size that the fish would grow to in its natural wild habitat. You have seen this one if you looked at our home page, but it is worth seeing again:
21-5 PICASSO TRIGGERFISH AKA HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKU...etc
This is the official state fish of Hawaii.
Margaret has created over 30 fish replicas. They are much lighter than ceramic and are extermely durable because of the special polymer coating she applies to the finished plaque.

63-12 RINGED EMPEROR ANGELFISH - This tropical fish is a salt water are fish which is also a popular decorative plaque because of its bright combination of colors. All of the replicas are signed on the back and identified. They are also varnished on the back.
The next two fish are interesting because they are the same fish, juvenile & adult, even thought they appear to be completely different species.

63-8 EMPEROR ANGELFISH [juvenile] and...

63-10 EMPEROR ANGELFISH [adult]
The actual blue and white striped pattern on the fish is continuous. The football shaped area in the photo is a flaw in the image.
The next spectacular fish is one of Margaret's newest creations:

125-3 the PEARL SCALED BUTTERFLY FISH
This fish is done with irridescent paint so that it actually shimmers as the light on it changes!
